FRANK IERO Signs With UNFD
New Album BARRIERS To Be Released May 31st
Woke up to some exciting news today! Frank Iero, a name some of you may recognize from a little band called My Chemical Romance, has signed with Melbourne based indie label UNFD (Bodyjar, Tonight Alive, Beartooth, etc..) and is set to release his third solo album, Barriers, on May 31st!
“Super excited to be joining the UNFD family,” said Iero about the signing. “We’ve known each other for a long time and the opportunity to be finally working together with people who really understand the project and believe in it is the greatest thing you could ever ask for.”
Choosing Frank Iero and the Future Violents as the band name for this album, he has teamed up with Evan Nestor, Matt Armstrong, Tucker Rule and Kayleigh Goldsworthy, and enlisted producer extraordinaire Steve Albini for this next step in his musical career. What should we expect? No one knows..
“This is who I am. I create in order to survive. And every chance I get I’m going to evolve and change. The ambition is to be for these songs to be perceived without any kind of past notion of what the project is supposed to sound like, to break down any and all boundaries and barriers that we’ve set up or that other people have set up for us. We really did go in and create something brand new for ourselves and that’s been such a challenge and fun undertaking.” Iero says, when asked about the new album/project.
Personally, I can’t wait to hear what direction Iero takes with this new album. Luckily, we don’t have to wait much longer for a taste.. the first single “Young And Doomed” will be out on March 21st.
